For some time, there were conversations about the person or group behind the popular Telegram game Hamster Kombat.

Industry insiders describe Hamster Kombat as the fastest-growing global digital service in history due to its exceptional growth. This quick growth has been compared to a hamster wheel gone crazy, which perfectly captures the game's explosive rise.

What is Hamster Kombat?

Hamster Kombat is a clicker game in the new Web3-powered mobile play-to-earn genre. It has a system different from the standard of cryptocurrency mining, which usually needs technical concepts and mining hardware. Hamster Kombat gives its enthusiasts or community the opportunity to mine the currency in an enjoyable and non-technical manner.

Hamster Kombat was introduced using Telegram Messenger's The Open Network (TON) ecosystem as its foundation. Simply put, Hamster Kombat is just another "tapper" or clicker game in which the player receives a virtual coin for each touch of the screen.

The software functions nearly in the same way as Notcoin or any other game of a similar nature. Distinctly, Hamster Kombat has an intriguing character, a cuddly hamster dressed as a businessman.

Who is behind Hamster Kombat?

Since its inception, the developers behind Hamster Kombat have remained anonymous. But with millions of enthusiasts and a growing attention to it, there are revelations that the face behind the popular game is not anonymous anyway.

The owner of Hamster Kombat is believed to be Eduard Gurinovich, a Russian IT entrepreneur. Gurinovich is the founder of CarPrice and CarMoney.

Trademark for Hamster Kombat filed by Gurinovich

Gurinovich is a well-known venture capitalist who was listed in Forbes' 2019 30 Under 30 list. His business, CarPrice, was one of the top 100 startups in Europe and had raised $42 million. In 2017, he stepped down as CEO of CarPrice and invested in businesses such as R-Set, blizkie.ru, and Dbrain.

According to some X posts, Gurinovich has applied to register the trademark "HAMSTER KOMBAT," which is a major step toward securing the game's brand.

According to sources, two months prior to the game's release, both the main domain for Hemster Kombat and hamsterkombat.com were concurrently registered. The Cypriot business Arenum Ltd. is the owner of the email address ap[at]arenum.games that is listed in the registry.

This is related to Gurinocvich because, along with two other Russian businessmen, Alexander Zelenshchikov and Alexander Pasechnik, he is a shareholder in Arenum Ltd.

Coinbase asks court to compel SEC chair Gary Gensler to release his secret emails

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that crypto exchange, Coinbase, has filed a motion asking a New York court to compel the Chairman of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Gary Gensler, to release his private emails. The emails will aid Coinbase in its suit against the regulator

This came days after the exchange notified Judge Katherine Polk Failla of its intention to narrow its document request via a letter. Coinbase first requested a copy of Gensler's private correspondence (prior to and during his tenure as SEC Chair) in April, but the SEC and Judge Failla have since rebuffed the request.
