There are plenty of talking points from Milan’s pre-season and one of them is the that they managed to beat some very good teams in the United States of America. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City were all beaten by Milan, helping to boost their confidence as a new season draw near.

They have now secured their second consecutive pre-season trophy under Fonesca.

Review of Chukwueze’s display against Monza

Milan’s pre-season campaign has offered plenty of talking points, particularly their impressive victories against top-tier teams in the USA. The Rossoneri managed to outclass Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester City, boosting their confidence as they secured their second consecutive pre-season trophy under coach Paulo Fonseca.

In the recent friendly against Monza, Milan took the lead in the first half through a deflected ‘rabona’ from Alexis Saelemaekers, only for Daniel Maldini to level the score before the break.

Samuel Chukwueze made an immediate impact upon his introduction.

His creativity and speed caused significant problems for the Monza defence, playing a crucial role in Milan’s attacking efforts.

Chukwueze was particularly instrumental in setting up a prime scoring opportunity for Noah Okafor, who was denied by a remarkable save.

Paulo Fonseca’s lineup included a blend of established stars like Rafael Leao and new faces such as Alvaro Morata, but it was the introduction of Chukwueze and other substitutes that truly tipped the balance in Milan’s favour.

Chukwueze wrapped up the match with a rating of 6.5 according to Yahoo Sports, with the publication noting, “He almost always got the ball whilst running, which is a good thing for him as he can challenge the opponent immediately. He could have been even more effective, but still good.”

This victory marks Chukwueze’s second trophy with Milan, following their shootout triumph over Monza in last season’s Silvio Berlusconi Trophy. With the new season coming around in a few days, Chukwueze and Milan are setting their sights on success in Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and a deep run in the Champions League.

It’s like I’ve been reborn - Chukwueze claims

Reflecting on his resurgence, Chukwueze shared insights into his revitalized form under Paulo Fonseca’s guidance.

In a recent interview, the Super Eagles star disclosed, “He only told me one thing: ‘Samuel, I don’t want to see the Chukwueze from last year. I want the one from Villarreal.’ And I said, ‘Okay, no problem.’ It’s like I’ve been reborn; I’m a new player.”

‘Samuel, you know it’s difficult,’ Osimhen tells Chukwueze

Looking ahead, Chukwueze expressed his desire to see fellow Nigerian star Victor Osimhen join him at Milan. “I would like to close my eyes, open them again, and see him here in Milan. I always say to him, ‘Are you sure you don’t want to come?’ And he says, ‘Samuel, you know it’s difficult,’ Chukwueze said.

Osimhen, one of Europe’s most coveted strikers, has been linked with a host of elite clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain.

However, his hefty €130m release clause has made potential suitors hesitant, with Chelsea reportedly considering a loan offer.

As Milan prepares for the new season, all eyes will be on Chukwueze to see if he can continue his reborn form and lead the team to glory across multiple fronts.

Mikel Obi discloses plan to lure Osimhen to Stamford Bridge

Previously, TheRadar reported that as the summer transfer window draws to a close, speculation surrounding Victor Osimhen's future has continued to intensify.

The Napoli striker, who has requested to leave the club, is heavily linked with a potential transfer to Chelsea. The deal could involve Romelu Lukaku moving in the opposite direction. Chelsea has been active in the transfer market, securing players like Pedro Neto, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Marc Guiu, and Filip Jorgensen, but the club appears determined to add Osimhen to their lineup.
