- Besiktas JK is targeting AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze for a potential move in the January transfer window
- Chukwueze, who joined Milan in 2023, has struggled for game time, prompting Milan to consider offers of £11 million
- Besiktas aims to rejuvenate their squad and sees Chukwueze as a key signing to enhance their title challenge
Besiktas JK, one of Turkey's football powerhouses, is reportedly preparing a move for AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze as the January transfer window approaches. The Nigerian international, who joined Milan from Villarreal in the summer of 2023, has endured a challenging spell in Serie A and could now be ready for a new chapter in Turkey.
Chukwueze, a close friend of Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen, has struggled to secure consistent game time at Milan. Despite moments of brilliance this season, the 25-year-old forward has found it difficult to displace American winger Christian Pulisic from the starting lineup. This lack of impact has left Milan open to offers, with reports suggesting a bid of £11 million might be enough to pry him away from the Rossoneri.
Besiktas, currently sitting fifth in the Turkish Super Lig standings, sees Chukwueze as a valuable addition to their attacking setup. The Istanbul club trails leaders Galatasaray by 10 points and is keen to improve its squad for a stronger title push.
Club sources revealed their interest, stating,
“Besiktas has Milan’s Chukwueze on their radar. The management is preparing to make an offer to Osimhen’s national team friend.”
The Nigerian winger’s career at Milan began with much promise following his €20 million transfer from Villarreal, plus €8 million in bonuses. Chukwueze impressed in preseason ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, with many expecting him to thrive under new manager Paulo Fonseca. However, he has been unable to replicate his Villarreal form, managing just one goal and one assist in 13 appearances this season.
Chukwueze’s potential move to Turkey might offer the reset he needs to rediscover his best form. Besiktas values his pace, flair, and ability to operate effectively on the flanks.
Despite his struggles at Milan, Chukwueze has drawn attention from other clubs, including Atletico Madrid, West Ham, Aston Villa, and Everton. However, Besiktas appears determined to secure his signature, reportedly preparing to intensify negotiations once the transfer window opens.
