Mohamed Salah has expressed his disappointment at Liverpool's lack of contract talks, casting doubt over his future at the club.

The Egyptian forward, whose contract expires at the end of the season, revealed after Liverpool's thrilling 3-2 comeback win against Southampton that no discussions have been held about an extension. Salah’s comments have left Liverpool fans concerned as the 32-year-old hinted he might be “probably more out than in” when his current deal concludes.

Salah, who has been a pivotal figure for Liverpool this season with 10 goals and six assists in 12 Premier League games, played a starring role at St. Mary’s on Sunday, November 24. His two decisive goals helped Liverpool overturn a deficit against Southampton, extending the Reds’ lead at the top of the league table. Yet, despite his stellar contributions, the club has yet to approach him regarding a new deal.

Speaking to the media after the match, Salah did not hide his frustration,

“Well, we are almost in December, and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay at the club, I’m probably more out than in. You know, I’ve been at the club for many years. There’s no club like this, but in the end, it’s not in my hands. It’s December, and I haven’t heard anything about my future.”

When asked if he was disappointed, Salah stated,

“Of course, yeah. I love the fans, and the fans love me. But it’s not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.”

Other key players Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk are also out of contract at the end of the season, adding to the mounting concerns over the team’s long-term stability.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot, however, chose to remain tight-lipped about ongoing contract negotiations.

Speaking earlier this month, Slot said,

“In general, contract situations are discussed by the people who should talk about it. I talk to [sporting director] Richard Hughes about these matters, not publicly.”

He acknowledged the importance of ongoing discussions but refrained from providing any updates about Salah’s or other players’ situations.

For now, fans will have to wait anxiously yet hopefully to see if the club moves to secure their talisman before his contract runs out.

Slot backs Salah to continue at Anfield ahead of clash with Boniface’s Leverkusen

Previously, TheRadar reported that Arne Slot, Liverpool’s manager, has downplayed any speculation surrounding ex-CAF Player of the Year winner Mohamed Salah’s future at Anfield.

Despite Salah’s cryptic comment following his goal against Brighton, a statement suggesting he would cherish the memory of scoring at Anfield no matter what happens, Slot remains confident about the Egyptian star’s commitment to the club.
