- Must hold a “student” visa status in Japan.
- English proficiency test scores must be taken on or after March 22, 2023.
Application process
1. Submit the APU application by November 13, 2024 (for September 2025 enrollment); April enrollment is unavailable. Additional documents are not required to be considered for this scholarship.
2. APU reviews application documents and selects outstanding candidates to recommend to MEXT.
3. Applicants selected to be recommended for this scholarship are notified of their final APU application results.
4. Selected applicants complete and submit additional MEXT application documents to APU.
5. MEXT decides the final scholarship award results.
