Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday, March 7, that Israel would press ahead with its war against Iran “with all our force,” declaring that Israeli and American operations have given them near-total control of the airspace over the Iranian capital, Tehran, after a week of sustained strikes.
In a televised address, Netanyahu said the campaign was part of a broader strategic objective aimed at dismantling the Iranian leadership.
“We have a systematic plan to eradicate the Iranian regime and achieve many other objectives,” Netanyahu said.
According to Israeli authorities, the conflict began last Saturday when Israeli and United States forces launched coordinated strikes on Tehran that killed Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.
Netanyahu said the Israeli public had shown strong support for the military campaign and vowed that the government would continue the offensive until its goals were achieved.
“Citizens, you are telling me, the government and our heroic soldiers to continue until victory, and I thank you. I can assure you that we will continue with all our force,” he said.
The Israeli leader added that the ongoing bombing campaign by Israeli and American pilots had significantly weakened Iran’s aerial defences.
“we have gained almost complete control of the airspace” over Iran’s capital, he said.
Addressing the Iranian population directly, Netanyahu described the conflict as a turning point and suggested that Israel’s actions could pave the way for political change in Iran.
Speaking to the Iranian people, he said the “moment of truth” was coming as Israel was seeking to help liberate them from the “yoke of tyranny”.
He further claimed that Israel’s military operations had reshaped regional dynamics.
He said that Israel had managed to “transform the Middle East” and shift the balance of power in the region.
Meanwhile, Israel’s military said it had carried out approximately 3,400 strikes on targets across Iran during the first week of the war, deploying about 7,500 munitions in the process.
