Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, has praised Bola Tinubu ahead of his 74th birthday, expressing strong confidence that the President will secure re-election in 2027.
In a congratulatory message released on Saturday, March 28, in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Barau commended Tinubu’s leadership and reform-driven agenda since taking office in May 2023.
Tinubu, who turns 74 on March 29, 2026, was described by the lawmaker as a committed and visionary leader focused on repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and long-term stability.
“He is a visionary leader who has been working tirelessly for the past 34 months to reposition our country for the benefit of both present and future generations,” Barau said.
Extending his goodwill, the Deputy Senate President prayed for the President’s continued health and longevity, noting that these would be essential in achieving his ambition of transforming Nigeria into a prosperous nation.
“Happy 74th birthday to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Tinubu.”
Barau also projected a strong electoral performance for Tinubu in the next presidential election, expressing confidence in widespread voter support.
“By the grace of God, Nigerians will overwhelmingly vote for President Tinubu come January 16, 2027, when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will conduct the presidential election.
“I have no doubt that by this time next year, when we will be celebrating his 75th birthday, he will be the president-elect for his second term. The victory will herald his birthday celebration,” he said.
He further called on Nigerians to remain supportive of the administration, stressing that Tinubu remains committed to addressing the country’s challenges and driving national development.
Barau, who also serves as First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, reaffirmed the National Assembly’s backing for the President’s policies and programmes.
“We stand with the President on this journey to address our nation’s challenges for the benefit of our people,” he added.
