- President Tinubu commenced a three-day official visit to Equatorial Guinea

The special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed in a statement on Tuesday that President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja for Malabo to commence a three-day official visit to Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday.
Ngelale said Tinubu’s visit to the country is based on the invitation of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
“President Tinubu will meet with the Equatorial Guinean President at the Presidential Villa on arrival, where meetings will be held between the two leaders and agreements, particularly on oil and gas and security, signed.
“The President will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other members of his cabinet who will be involved in the signing of agreements and review of opportunities to improve bilateral relations,” the statement read.
Tinubu arrives Malabo for official visit
Meanwhile, President Tinubu has arrived in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, for the three-day official visit on August 14. He arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Malabo International Airport at about 2:07 pm and was received by the Prime Minister of the country, Manuela Roka Botey, on arrival.
On arriving at the airport, Tinubu received a brief welcome ceremony, after which he headed to the Presidential Palace, known as the People's Palace Court.
The private meeting between the two presidents will be followed by the signing of bilateral agreements focusing on various areas, including oil and gas, security, and others.
President Tinubu will later sign a historic visitors’ book, after which a press statement would be made available, and then a dinner will close the day.
Among those accompanying President Tinubu are the Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar; Defense, Abubakar Badaru; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo; and Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
Others are Lateef Fagbemi, the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice; Jamila Ibrahim-Bio, the Youth Development Director; and Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
The business community, especially from the oil and gas sector, was also represented during the visit, including the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Matrix Group, Abdulkabir Adisa Aliu.
Tinubu approves policy to ensure that healthcare experts don’t leave Nigeria
Earlier, TheRadar reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had approved the National Policy of Health Workforce Migration to solve the exodus of healthcare experts in Nigeria.
The Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, shared this information on his X handle on Monday, August 12. He revealed that the policy will ensure that the medical workforce is well-supported, adequately rewarded, and optimally utilised to meet the healthcare needs of Nigerians.
