President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of retired Major-General Adeyinka Fadewa as Special Adviser on Homeland Security, reinforcing the Federal Government’s commitment to improving internal security coordination and intelligence-driven operations across Nigeria.
The appointment was confirmed on Monday through an official circular signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume. The circular was transmitted through the Permanent Secretary of the General Services Office, Dr Ibrahim Kana.
According to the Presidency, Fadewa’s appointment was based on his extensive military experience, strategic expertise and long-standing contributions to Nigeria’s national security structure. The administration stated that his new role would focus on strengthening collaboration among security institutions while improving responses to emerging security challenges nationwide.
President Tinubu said the appointment reflected his administration’s determination to establish a more coordinated and responsive security framework capable of tackling evolving threats.
