The family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, came under attack in the early hours of Tuesday, 16 April, when unidentified hoodlums reportedly stormed the property wielding cutlasses and firearms.

The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. in the Obeiba-Ihima community, located in the Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State. Intelligence sources were said to have confirmed that at least three armed assailants were involved in the attack, which left parts of the building vandalised, including several windows smashed.

The senator’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, promptly reported the incident to the security authorities. A distress call led to a swift response from operatives of the Okehi Police Division, who arrived at the scene shortly after the attack and assessed the damage.

No casualties were reported, and no arrests have been made as of the time of this report. The motive behind the attack remains unknown, though police have launched a preliminary investigation to uncover the circumstances and identify the perpetrators.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has yet to issue a public statement concerning the incident.
