The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has expressed his readiness to collaborate with international and local organisations to enhance healthcare delivery across Ibadanland.
The monarch made this known on Monday while receiving representatives from the University of California, Los Angeles, the Sadiat Toyin Lawal Foundation, and the Tabernacle Worship and Prayer Ministry at his palace in Oke-Aremo, within Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Speaking during the visit, Oba Ladoja underscored the critical importance of public health, describing it as a cornerstone of societal well-being. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that residents of the ancient city have access to quality healthcare services.
“The health of the people of Ibadanland is of paramount importance to me. I will leave no stone unturned to ensure the provision and promotion of healthy living among residents of the ancient city, for health is wealth,” the monarch stated. He further pledged his full support for partnerships aimed at strengthening the healthcare delivery system in the region.
As part of efforts to ensure effective collaboration, the Olubadan revealed that he had facilitated a meeting between the visiting delegation and officials of the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, led by its Executive Secretary, Muideen Olatunji. According to the monarch, the engagement was necessary to align goals and promote synergy among stakeholders.
Earlier, the leader of the outreach team, Toyin Lawal, explained that the visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration in community health initiatives. She noted that the partnership would focus on strengthening primary healthcare centres, tertiary hospitals, and local government health systems.
Lawal disclosed that the team intends to donate medical equipment and essential resources to improve healthcare delivery across Ibadanland. In addition, a formal proposal has been submitted to the palace, outlining plans for health advocacy, education, and public sensitisation programmes.
The meeting was attended by several prominent traditional leaders, including Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, Oba Kolawole Adewole, and Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, among others.
