Lagos State University (LASU) has launched a new cutting-edge application, LASU Talkspace, aimed at transforming the way the university community and the general public engage in virtual meetings, conferences, and seminars.
Developed by the university’s Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), under the leadership of Professor Toyin Enikuomehin, the platform is set to provide a secure, efficient, and reliable alternative to popular virtual meeting tools like Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet.
According to a statement from DICT, the app has received approval from the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, and is now accessible to both LASU staff and the general public. Staff members can use LASU Talkspace free of charge with their official LASU staff email addresses.
For the wider public, a subscription model has been introduced, with fees varying based on the type of service required.
The introduction of LASU Talkspace is part of the university's ongoing commitment to embracing technological advancements and fostering a more connected, collaborative environment within and outside its community.
The app’s development comes at a time when virtual platforms are playing an increasingly vital role in academic and professional engagements.

NCAC, NITDA to launch ‘BuyNigeria’ e-commerce initiative
Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) had partnered to launch BuyNigeria.ng, an e-commerce platform designed to bring Nigerian markets into the digital space.
The announcement was made in a joint statement by Dr. Dennis Olofu, Head of Media at NCAC, and Mrs. Hadiza Umar, Director of Corporate Communications and Media Relations at NITDA.
