In a bold statement, former governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has asserted his political stature, declaring himself “bigger” than Peter Obi, whom he referred to as his “younger brother.”
Kwankwaso, who holds a PhD in civil engineering from Sharda University India, in 2022., highlighted his past governance achievements in Kano State, suggesting he outperformed Obi during his tenure as governor.
While addressing supporters, Kwankwaso expressed a willingness to serve as Obi's deputy, but emphasised that this would be contingent upon specific conditions being met.
“I have no problem with deputising Peter Obi, but only if certain conditions are met,” he said, leaving the nature of those conditions unclear.
Kwankwaso’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions about political alliances and strategies ahead of the upcoming elections.
His assertion of political superiority and willingness to negotiate a deputy position underscores the complexities of leadership dynamics within Nigeria’s political landscape.
As the political scene continues to evolve, Kwankwaso’s statements are likely to influence potential collaborations and campaign strategies among prominent figures in the lead-up to the elections.

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that Kano state governor, Abba Yusuf said that miscreants who damaged the Kano State High Court during the nationwide hunger protests also absconded with documents detailing the corruption charges against former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
