The New York Times reported that Nigerians are experiencing the worst economic crisis in decades, with prices for food, medicine, and petrol too high for many to afford, and the government making it difficult for businesses operate.
According to the report, it is even worse because the Nigerian currency is at its weakest during a free collapse. They claimed Tinubu had broken all of his promises and that the collapse of Nigeria's economy was caused by a miscalculated elimination of fuel subsidies and the floating of the Naira.
Presidency argues US is also facing similar dilemma
In regards to this report, the Presidency has said that Nigeria is not the only country experiencing an increasing cost of living challenge. Families in the United States are also facing a similar dilemma, with many struggling to make ends meet.

Many Nigerians feel that the NY Times report was completely accurate and have reacted on social media.
