- The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that the registration for the 2026 Direct Entry programme has opened and will run until April 25, 2026
- The applications and e-PIN purchases are strictly limited to accredited JAMB state and zonal offices nationwide
- The eligible qualifications include National Diploma (ND), National Certificate in Education (NCE), IJMB, A-level certificates, and other approved equivalents
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has begun the sale of application documents for the 2026 Direct Entry programme across the country.
In a statement published on its official X account on Monday, March 2, the board confirmed that registration “commenced today, Monday, 2nd March 2026 and will end by Saturday, 25th April 2026.”
JAMB reiterated that the entire registration process, including the purchase of e-PINs and application documents, must be carried out only at its accredited state and zonal offices nationwide.
The Direct Entry scheme enables candidates with recognised qualifications such as National Diploma (ND), National Certificate in Education (NCE), Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB), A-level certificates, or other approved equivalents to secure direct admission into 200-level university programmes without sitting for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The announcement follows the recent completion of the 2026 UTME registration exercise, which ended on February 28.
In its official statement, the board said: “Registration commenced today, Monday, 2nd March 2026 and will end by Saturday, 25th April 2026.”
It further noted that “the entire process, including the purchase of e-PINs and application documents, is restricted exclusively to its accredited state and zonal offices across the country.”
The Direct Entry programme remains a key pathway for qualified candidates seeking advanced admission opportunities in Nigerian universities.
The development comes shortly after the closure of the 2026 UTME registration exercise on February 28.
