The chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has released the picture of the Igbo woman threatening to end the lives of Yoruba and Benin people at her workplace.

She posted on her X account @abikedabiri that: “This is the picture of the lady behind the voice. Amaka Patience Sunnberger. She has deleted her TikTok account and a group of Nigerians in Canada are reporting her officially to the relevant authorities in Canada. Thanks for alerting everyone.”

It all started when a netizen, Dami Adenuga, @DAMIADENUGA posted a video on his X account, which went viral on social media, alerting Nigerians, especially those of Yoruba descent and those from Benin whom she claimed were her targets.

Amaka had gone on TikTok Live to deliver her threats along with eight others on the Live session who seemed to be encouraging the threats.

In the video, Amaka was heard ranting and making bold threats to the lives of Yoruba and Benin people at her workplace.

She said: “Record me very very well. It is time, time to start poisoning the Yoruba and the Benin. Put poison for all una food for work, put poison for una water, make una dey kpai one by one. Una no go kpai one day o, una go sick sick sick.

“I go put otapiapia for inside for inside una water, inside una food. Una no go see better. This kain hate wey I get for una so, e go last forever. For all of una food, Otapiapia… I go dey put am for all una food.

“If I go work tomorrow now, I go out am for Yoruba people food. Go tell government, oya I dey Canada, I dey Ontario, oya hurry up, hurry fast fast…”

Many Nigerians advised that the woman’s account be reported on TikTok. Some people argued that the woman in the video was not Igbo before her identity was revealed by the NIDCOM boss.

Netizens react to Abike Dabiri’s post

Some Nigerians have called for the arrest of every other person who was on the TikTok Live session when Amaka delivered her threats, and others have berated her for her evil thoughts and mindset towards her fellow Nigerians. While some people want her to be deported, others believe Yoruba people who have also insulted Igbos should be arrested as well.

Here are some of the comments:

@ifeanyieneje posted: “SO YOU CAN JUMP OUT AND DO THIS WORK. BUT REMINED SILENT TO THE CONTINUING ORGANISED HATRED AGAINST IGBOS THAT SHE COULD NOT TAKE ANYMORE. LET US SEE where this govt will get to with this.”

@nikkyville posted: “Chai. She has a big head with no brain. She should be sent back to Nigeria to do her full term. Kudos to those who can fish her out. There are other people involved. This will serve as a lesson to them all.”

@BianiMeka posted: “Totally abhorable, such individuals should be fished out and made to face the music,it will also be good for such interventions to be balanced, because I've noticed very disturbing trends of Madam diaspora always only commenting when it has to do with family friends kids having issues abroad or anything pertaining to a particular tribe,we can only preach Nigeria by meaning what we say and saying what we mean, not the way it is Ma,I strongly believe that you and most officials in this government have encouraged such narratives with your body language.”

@OlorogunErnest posted: “These people need to understand that Canada has zero tolerance for hate and violence. This is so embarrassing & disturbing. Please also kindly get the Ndigbo association in Toronto- Ontario involved in this as it's very sensitive.”

@Govmentson posted: “This is what should be done. People should understand that there’s consequences for their actions online.”

@geoexplor posted: “Good move, she should be dealt with. She doesn’t represent the interest of any Nigerian.”

@ekundayo_ojo posted: “Good morning. There is a need to pass a bill in the senate or through a regulatory body to punish or arrest people who use social media to promote such barbaric and life-threatening behaviour. We have too much freedom of speech and cyberbullying in Nigeria !”
