Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington, a mother of two, opened up about her personal experience with hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness. 

This comes after a recent tragic incident involving a 24-year-old pregnant woman who took her own life due to extreme morning sickness, which caught the actress's attention. 

On Tuesday, March 4, Etomi-Wellington took to her Instagram story to express her concerns about the lack of understanding surrounding hyperemesis gravidarum. 

She emphasised that the sickness is not as trivial as people often perceive it. She also conveyed her gratitude to those who supported her during her experience with the condition.

She wrote,

"When I talk about the seriousness of hyperemesis gravidarum, people don't get it and I hate it. Grateful for my husband, my doctors, family and friends that rallied around me.
It is not ordinary morning sickness. It is a serious condition that literally affects the quality of your life.”

Etomi-Wellington's candid post resonated with many of her fans, who have shared their own experiences and opinions on the matter.

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that a pregnant woman identified as Joyce Ifunayachukwu reportedly died despite online donations made to help her Kidney transplant and pregnancy complications. 

Nigerians expressed rage on social media because Joyce allegedly died in a church where her husband took her instead of the hospital.
