“You are a bully,” Mercy Chinwo slams former record boss, Ezekiel Odinakachi

The tension in the Nigerian gospel ministry between Mercy Chinwo and her former record label boss Ezekiel Odinakachi seems to be a deeper issue than initially meets the eye. 

The minister recently addressed a contractual dispute with Eezeetee, through a statement from her legal representative concerning Odinakachi's claim that Chinwo breached their contract, which sparked considerable reactions on social media.

To clarify the situation, Chinwo posted a video on her official Instagram page @mercychinwo, where she expressed her gratitude and disbelief regarding her current circumstances. 

Her caption read; “

I am overwhelmed with sadness every single day, and I cannot even explain it all. This burden is too heavy for me to bear. People call me names, accuse me unjustly, and paint me as someone I am not. 

“They say I broke contract, that I never did, despite all the frustration. They label me as something I could never be.

But I know the truth, and I know my God sees all, He is the God of justice, and He must arise for my sake!

"The Lord is a God who avenges. O God who avenges, shine forth. Rise up, Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve.' (Psalm 94:1-2).

My heart cries out to Him because I believe He will fight for me and make the truth known. I leave it all in His hands. “

In the video, she addressed lots of issues. She said, "For the sake of the body of Christ, I thought to bring a lot of clarity to a lot of misleading news out there about Mercy Chinwo's brand. 

“A man said I sued him, came online, made videos to tarnish my image. He looked at me and said, 'I made you who you are, and I will destroy you.' I became scared for my life. 

“It got to a point where I had to move from Lagos to Port Harcourt because this man made the environment toxic for me."

Chinwo highlighted the emotional abuse she faced from Odinakachi and emphasised that the threats she currently receives on social media are nothing compared to her experiences with him. 

She called him out on his lies, demanding to know why he lied when there was evidence that he sued her, not the other way around. She added, "He took me to court and came online to tell everyone I took him to court. 

“How many lawyers have you changed? What have I done to you? I took you as a father and I served you diligently. "You seized my royalties for two years. YOU ARE A BULLY, YOU ARE AN OPPRESSOR!" 

Chinwo continued, exposing more of his actions. "One of my major crimes was when I did a major song with Pastor Nathaniel Bassey. Because this man hates Nathaniel Bassey, you went as far as posting fake news about an innocent child, my son, and you said my son is not my son. You paid bloggers. Because you don't like Pastor Jerry Eze, you won't want me to go for his events. And I am to fight the ones you fight with."

Concluding her statement, she left a strong message of confidence, asserting that she has support. She said, "You have bloggers, and I have God. The worst you can do is what you are doing, and I know that God will not let your plans come to pass."

Gospel minister Judikay addresses controversy with former record label EeZee Conceptz

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that Gospel singer Judith Kanyo-Okpara, widely known as Judikay, responded to the ongoing controversy surrounding her former record label, EeZeetee Conceptz, and its boss, Ezekiel Odinakachi. 

The saga has been rife with rumours and allegations that threaten to tarnish the standards of the gospel ministry and in an effort to protect her reputation, the Capable God hitmaker released a statement on her official X (formerly Twitter) page, @officialJudikay, to clarify the situation and withdraw from the public controversy.
