Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has revealed that she always wanted her daughter Priscilla Ojo to marry at an early age.
Iyabo Ojo explained that it was her wish all along, and she was excited that everything is coming into shape following her daughter's recent engagement.
A few months back, Priscilia unveiled her fiance, Juma Jux, a Tanzanian music star and in September, the lovebirds reportedly got engaged.
During a recent TikTok Live session that surfaced on Monday, November 11, Iyabo Ojo, code-switching between Yoruba and English, explained in detail why she wanted her daughter to get married early.
Iyabo Ojo, who believes in early marriage, said she desired her daughter to marry early, as she did before she had her.
“Power lies in the tongue. I've always said that I want my daughter to get married early. Priscilla will always tell me, “Mummy, no. I'm not ready,” I said, okay. One day, she just said, “Mom, I'm ready”. I asked her, "Are you ready for what? She said she is ready to get married.”
Iyabo revealed how she found it hard to believe her daughter when she received the news. According to the veteran actress, she asked Princillia for details about who she wanted to marry.
“She said, " Mummy, We are going to Tanzania”. When I heard that, I went straight to Google to make my findings. I googled the person, his family and everything about him. I finally told her I will pray about it so long as she is happy. “ Iyabo Ojo narrated
The actress further disclosed how her daughter’s fiance proved to be a family-oriented young man with the abundance of love, he showers on his mother and sisters. According to her, it is a clear sign to know a man who would genuinely love his wife.
