- Veteran actor Hanks Anuku has hinted on his desire to remarry after a decade
- The legendary actor, however, explains why he cannot consider a Nigerian woman again
- Anuku also spoke on diabolism in Nollywood, noting how he was blackmailed
Nollywood Veteran Hanks Anuku recently expressed his desire to remarry, but this time, he explained why he does want to marry a Nigerian woman.
The legendary actor narrated the trauma of his failed marriage to his Asaba ex-wife, which left him scared of Nigerian women.
In a recent episode of Nollywood Hardcore, The Legend’s Untold Story, that surfaced on March 26, Anuku said that he can’t also marry the mother of his two children over compatibility issues.
According to the movie star said he is more compatible with Caucasian women, emphasising that he had a lot of them as friends while abroad.
Why Hanks cannot marry Nigerian women
“My marriage failed because we were not compatible. It was a wrong marriage. She is not the mother of my kids. But I had a stepdaughter she came with from a previous relationship.
“I have been divorced for more than 10 years. I’m not married to anybody yet but I have another lady who has two kids for me. She has a son and daughter for me and they live together with their mother.
“I’m not married again. I’m not married after separating from my first wife. I don’t want to get married to any Nigerian. Because I went through a lot of psychological trauma and all that. I never expected that I was going to be separated from her. It hurt me. But I had to move on.
“It’s not that I don’t want to get married, I’m just scared of Nigerian women. Overseas, I had Caucasian female friends. If I had to go back, it would be a bit too late now. Maybe, if I go on vacation and I find a friend… I found myself a lot more compatible with Caucasian women. When I was overseas, I never dated any coloured woman. Blonde women are my specs. They never bothered me until I came to Nigeria,” Hanks narrated.
Hanks speaks on diabolism and jealousy in Nollywood
According to the actor, his fallout in Nollywood started with colleagues who were jealous of his fame.
He also noted how they took on diabolical ways too and blackmailed him, hinting on how it affected his career.
“You know in life, we must give space for falling down. In the industry, we have so many sad cases that are not well-built. Even if you’re trying to get up, someone is out there to bring you down.
“It was a bit of diabolism in the industry. Some people were diabolic and envious of my shine. You know all that. I was blackmailed,” he added.
