Popular Nigerian gospel minister and comedian, Bayegun Oluwatoyin, widely known as Woli Arole, has issued a warning to men about engaging in casual encounters with women, particularly in the Lekki axis of Lagos.
In a post on his Instagram page on Thursday, March 13, Woli Arole cautioned Nigerian men against picking up women from the streets at night, implying that some of them could be marine spirits disguising as attractive ladies.
"Stop carrying girls on the STREET at NIGHT. You carry them and have S*X with them. Abeg Oooo!!!. Some of these girls are MARINE SPIRITS Oooo!!!!. Especially that Lekki Axis. Save a friend, send this message to someone,"
Emphasising his point further, he added in his caption: “Save a FRIEND. Tag Someone. No go sleep with Marine ooooo.”
Some users supported his claims, citing personal experiences or religious beliefs about spiritual entities manifesting in human form. Others, however, dismissed it as mere superstition, joking about his choice of words and the emphasis on the Lekki area.
Woli Arole, known for blending comedy with religious teachings, has a history of using his platform to share spiritual messages in an engaging and often lighthearted manner.

Woli Arole sparks debate on gospel singers, questions authenticity of ministers
Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that Woli Arole expressed concern about the difficulty in distinguishing between performers and genuine music ministers within the Christian community.
He stated that gospel music ministrations are now based on connections and not spiritually inclined.
Arole's comments sparked a heated debate on social media, with some users agreeing with his views and others criticising him for airing his concerns publicly.
