Nollywood’s veteran actor has announced the death of his 15-year-old teenage son, Ifeanyi.
The circumstances that led to the death of the young boy were yet to be ascertained by the actor or his family as of the time of this report. Ifeanyi is said to be the actor’s second son.
55-year-old Duru broke the news in a social media post via his official Instagram page, on August 8, with a picture of his son and a heartbreaking caption.
Metaphorically, he described his son as a ‘lion’ who was strong till the end. He wrote, “My champ! My Lion, you fought like a lion. If this is the way He wants it, so be it, I still judge you faithful.
“Ifeanyi, my champ. I will miss you, son. I will forever love you. Rest in peace, son, rest. I give you thanks Lord!”
The news shook fans and colleagues alike, many who actually thought it was Ifeanyi's birthday considering the picture showed a bright smile on his face but the caption said otherwise.
Many of them have taken to the actor’s page to share words of encouragement, shock, condolences and prayers to comfort the bereaved thespian and his family.
