- VeryDarkMan has accused Nedu Wazobia of defrauding a UK-based individual of N60 million for a charity gala
- The individual allegedly paid the full amount upfront, but Nedu failed to provide the promised services or a breakdown of the funds
- VeryDarkMan promised to file a petition over the alleged fraud, sparking widespread debate on social media
Social media critic VeryDarkMan has once again called out popular media personality Nedu Wazobia, this time over allegations of a N60 million fraud linked to a charity gala.
Despite expressing a desire to move past the ongoing podcast controversy—citing advice from respected individuals he holds in high esteem—VeryDarkMan revealed that new information has compelled him to revisit the issue.
In a video posted on Wednesday, February 19, VDM revealed that a man based in the United Kingdom contacted him with claims of being defrauded by Nedu.
The man alleged that Nedu had invited him to an event he was hosting. Following the event, the individual discussed his work with a Non-Governmental Organisation focused on charity and student scholarships through the Metropolitan Business School and Management UK.
Eager to attract more Nigerian students, the man sought Nedu’s assistance with publicising their initiatives.
Nedu allegedly agreed to collaborate and support the educational cause. He proposed hosting a "Nedu Charity Gala," to raise awareness and funding. The organisation asked Nedu to provide a detailed breakdown of the costs involved for the gala.
Nedu’s budget outline for the gala allegedly totalled N85 million and included significant expenses such as:
- N5 million allocated for engaging 10 influencers at N500,000 each.
- N3.5 million for digital marketing across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Google, and YouTube.
- N2 million for video production.
- N1,056,000 for offline media coverage, including prominent platforms like Bella Naija and Pulse.
- Additionally, N3,011,250 for post-event publicity.
The organisation reportedly provided an upfront payment of N60 million for the event. However, during the gala, another account, allegedly belonging to Nedu, was used to collect funds, contradicting the initial plans for raising sponsorships for the scholarship program.
Nedu’s financial management was questioned. The organisation claimed it received no funds with over 600 applicants and zero scholarships, and there has been no accounting from Nedu regarding how the money was spent.
Additionally, the promised billboards never appeared, and aside from endorsements from artists like Timaya and Kcee, the expected media coverage was largely absent.
VeryDarkMan disclosed that the UK-based individual has since relocated to Scotland and plans to file a petition against Nedu over the alleged fraud.
Cncluding his video, he stated;
“I have told them not to worry, that I will write a petition on their behalf and take it to the appropriate authorities, Nedu should be invited so that he can break it down.
“You see what I say about these NGO frauds? They come online to make it seem like they want to help but the motive is fraudulent, and a lot of the NGOs in Nigeria are fraudulent.

We've reached a point where exposing fraud and dishonesty is seen as a personal attack rather than a necessary act for the greater good. The problem lies not in the act of exposing corruption, but in the unfortunate reality that those who reveal the truth are often met with disdain, while the perpetrators of the wrongdoings receive undeserved support.”

N180 million is missing —VeryDarkMan says his NGO website has been hacked
Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that Nigerian social media activist Martins Ortse, widely recognised by his online moniker VeryDarkMan, recently made a startling announcement, disclosing that an astonishing N180 million has inexplicably vanished from the account of his Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO).
This alarming revelation raised questions about financial security and accountability within the organisation, drawing significant attention from both supporters and critics alike.
