Oba Michael Odunayo Ajayi JP, Arowotawaya II, the Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesa, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, on the occasion of his 50th birthday.
The Elerinmo, representing the entire Erinmo Kingdom, lauded the Ooni as an iconic leader and custodian of Yoruba heritage.
In a royal proclamation, Arowotawaya II commended the Ooni’s leadership, emphasising his dedication to cultural preservation and his ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
He reflected on the deep bond of mutual respect and friendship between himself and Ooni Ogunwusi, rooted in a shared vision for the advancement of the Oduduwa people.
“His humility, grace, and wisdom have made him a beacon of hope, especially for the youth of our nation,” Elerinmo stated.
He noted the Ooni’s commitment to nurturing future leaders, citing initiatives like the establishment of Ojaja II University and the Ife Grand Resort, which have created numerous job opportunities for young people.
Elerinmo highlighted the Ooni's significant contributions to the Yoruba race, particularly in fostering unity, peace, and development.
“His Majesty’s dedication to empowering youth, women, and widows has been evident through various initiatives that have transformed lives,” he said.
The Elerinmo also praised the Ooni’s efforts in elevating Yoruba culture, particularly through the annual Olojo Festival.
“What began as a localised celebration has now gained global recognition, attracting guests from around the world to experience our rich cultural heritage,” he remarked, attributing this success to the Ooni’s visionary leadership.
As the Erinmo Kingdom joins in the celebration, Elerinmo expressed hopes for God’s continued blessings upon the Ooni.
“May his reign be long, peaceful, and prosperous, and may he continue to lead with wisdom, strength, and a profound sense of responsibility for the welfare of his people,” he concluded.
