Veteran actor Ramsey Nouah has finally revealed his past feelings for Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji during the early days of their careers.
In a recent interview, Nouah revealed that he had genuine emotional feelings for Genevieve, who is renowned for her poise and beauty whose elegance is, in no doubt, the subject of admiration for many colleagues, fans, and friends.
In the early stages of their careers, many Nigerians rooted for a real-life romantic relationship between Nouah and Nnaji, while some speculated that they were in a relationship due to their undeniable on-screen chemistry.
However, this speculation was left unanswered until recently. This shocking confession has surprised many, as the two actors were often rumoured to have had a romantic relationship in the past.
Nouah said: “Back in the early days of our careers, Emeka Ike and I were close friends, navigating the world of fame together.
“We also worked alongside Genevieve, who was blossoming into the star she is today. It wasn’t just her beauty that captivated me, but her spirit and I began to envision a future where she and I could share something special.”

Ramsey Nouah confessed that he was ready to make a move on Nnaji but held back when he discovered that his close friend and colleague, Emeka Ike, had similar feelings for her. Ramsey chose not to pursue Genevieve, believing that Emeka would love her better.
This revelation sheds light on the long-standing speculation about Ramsey and Genevieve's relationship, finally putting the rumours to rest.
Ramsey explained that he and Emeka Ike had been friends for many years and had often worked together on film sets. He stated that he had always admired Genevieve's talent and beauty but had never approached her.
However, when he decided to, he realised that Emeka had feelings for her too, and then decided to step aside and let his friend pursue her instead.
“However, when I realised that Emeka was also pursuing her heart, I made the decision to step aside.
“As men, we don't fight over women, we support each other. I had to be honest with Emeka and let him know I was interested in Genevieve, but I would back off if he promised to treat her with the love and respect she deserved.
“Emeka assured me that he would do everything in his power to be the man she needed, confident that she had a special connection with him, even if she wasn’t fully open about it yet,” he explained.

Nouah mentioned that he trusted Ike to treat her with love and respect and chose not to pursue her to avoid conflict with his friend. He believed that Ike would love her better. He stated: “I trusted Emeka to take the lead, despite rumours circulating on popular blogs at the time, claiming I had used my charm to win Genevieve over. It was all just speculation, and I wasn’t concerned with that.
“Though they didn’t end up together, I don’t judge. Love is a personal choice, and every adult has the right to make their own decisions. Emeka will always be a friend and brother to me, and I respect the paths we’ve all chosen.”
Although Emeka's relationship with Genevieve didn't last, Ramsey noted that they were all adults who made their own decisions. Despite the past, the three Nollywood stars have maintained a close relationship over the years.
