The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has shared its highly anticipated nominations for its 2024 edition and Nollywood film, The Weekend leads the pack.
For this year’s AMAA ceremony, which also marks its 20th anniversary, The Weekend bagged 16 nominations, including Best Film, Best Director and Achievement in Cinematography.
The nomination announcement was made on Wednesday, October 2, and hosted by Vimbai Mutinhiri, who set the stage for the awards night scheduled for November 2, 2024.
Coming close behind it is South Africa's The Queenstown Kings, which garnered a total of 15 nominations. It is also contending for Best Film, Best Director and Cinematography categories.
