  • Popular Nigerian singers Flavour and Kcee seems to be at loggerheads on social media
  • Flavour seemingly threw shade at Kcee describing him as a copycat following a new single Kcee released
  • In response, Kcee lambasted Flavour for his shade alleging he (Kcee) copied Flavour’s song. The heated response generated reactions from netizens

Nigerian singer Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, and his colleague Chinedu Okolie, better known as Flavour N’abani, got into a heated trade of words over alleged copyright infringement.

The Igbo Highlife singer, Flavour earlier tweeted a seemingly shade at a colleague without mentioning any name describing the person as a copycat.

Flavour’s tweet followed Kcee’s recently announced new track, Netfliss, with snippets of the music video. Netizens had pointed out the similarities of Kcee’s newly released Netfliss with Flavour’s hit song, Doings

Responding to Flavour’s supposed shade, Kcee lambasted Flavour in a series of tweets on his official X (formerly Twitter) page on Tuesday, October 29.

The Ojapiano crooner made it clear that he was not on the same level with Flavour and advised him (Flavour) to pick his battles well.

Kcee also claimed that Flavour was gatekeeping the Igbo culture, which should not be the case because he (Flavour) was not its custodian.

I've never been the type to go head to head, but I'm calling out this bullshit because I won't be disrespected. No way... I've come too far for anyone to downplay my sweats and hard work. HELL NO!!!!

People recognize authenticity. I'll continue celebrating our culture unapologetically. Spend your energy on success, not diminishing mine.” Kcee tweeted.
