- Yes FM, in a recent broadcast, revealed the cause of death of the late singer
Yemi Sonde Entertainment (Yes) FM, a radio station based in Ibadan, has revealed the circumstances surrounding the death of Gospel singer Aduke Gold.
The death of the singer had left fans and colleagues in utter shock, which they described as an ‘untimely and unexpected’ death.
In a recent broadcast posted on Facebook on Wednesday, August 14, YES FM, through its host Yemi Sonde revealed the actual cause that led to the death of the singer—a question many have been asking.
According to Sonde, while speaking Yoruba on YES FM, revealed that the late singer battled with fibroids and had gone for surgery prior to her death.
“Is it over? Is this how you’ve ended your journey on earth? She used to bear Aduke Penkele before Tope Alabi renamed her Aduke Gold. She was also very educated. She went to school through a scholarship sponsorship from Opeyemi Bamidele in Lagos State University.
“She lost her parents at the age of 4. How did a four-year-old orphan survive till this point, at the peak of her music career to eat the fruit of her labour and death took her away? Very talented and pleasant woman.
“What killed her? She didn't know it would be her end nor expected it. It was a surgery for fibroids she went to do and never came back. A general has fallen in the vineyard of God. A multi-talented gospel artiste, naturally creative and endowed musician,” he added.
Sonde, playing Aduke Gold’s popular song ‘Nitori Ogo Ni’ as the background music, further paid tribute to the late singer, highlighting her amazing personality and achievements in the Gospel music industry.
Born Aduke Ajayi, the singer was said to have been ill for two months before being admitted to the University College Hospital in Ibadan, where she reportedly died on August 12.
Meanwhile, fibroids are tumours made of muscle cells and fibrous connective tissue that develop in the uterus. It is estimated that 70 to 80 per cent of women will develop it in their lifetime.
