In a dramatic turn of events in the Big Brother Naija house, Chinwe accused Nelly of stealing her 24-karat gold jewellery.
It all started when Nelly handed the jewellery box she found in her laundry bag to Sooj, asking him to help her give it to Chinwe. Chinwe, baffled at the situation, questioned how her jewellery ended up in Nelly’s laundry bag.
She then proceeded to insult Nelly calling her a thief. She said: “So my jewellery 24-karat gold waka enter her(Nelly) laundry bag? Let this be the first and the last time. You no see another thing carry, Na gold appear for your laundry bag. Thief, Anini, armed robber!”
Nelly also called Chinwe fat and ugly during a conversation with one of the housemates. She also told Kassia that she didn’t know how the expensive jewellery ended up in her possession.
Nelly later went to apologise to Chinwe for the situation after Sooj told her to pull Chinwe aside for a conversation.
Nigerians react to Chinwe’s theft accusation
Some fans believe Chinwe must have planted the jewellery box in Nelly’s bag because she (Chinwe) had said she was going to set a trap for Nelly. Other fans thought Nelly didn’t owe Chinwe an apology if she didn’t steal the jewellery. Some netizens also called on Big Brother to play a clip showing how the item got into Nelly’s bag.

BBNaija Season 9: Nelita wins Head of House Ballot
Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that the Nelita duo - Nelly and Anita, emerged as the Head of House (HOH) for week three in the ongoing Big Brother Naija Season 9 “No Loose Guard” edition.
The pair was chosen as the HoH in a ballot that started in the early hours of Monday, August 12. Nelita got the highest votes yet this season and was declared the winner of the HoH ballot.
