Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Shaun has revealed that he once mistakenly spanked Handi on her backside thinking she was Wanni.
He said this happened in the third week of the show when he couldn’t tell the difference between the twins, Wanni and Handi. Shaun revealed this during his exit interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Monday, September 23.
In his words, “In week three, I tapped Handi’s bum by mistake. I was like from now on, I am not touching you from behind. I’ll make sure I look first.”
While Shaun said he wants Wanni to win the show, he said fans might make Onyeka or Double Kay (Kassia and Kellyrae) win. He also added that Kassia and Kellyrae do not give any content in the house and he doesn’t understand why they get saved every week.
He said: “I want Wanni to win. I think they’re going to make Onyeka win or Double Kay. They have been up every week and how are they surviving? they don’t do nothing in the crib. They are just dating themselves, they don’t give any content. So, why the hell are people saving them week in, week out? Because they survived pretty much the whole season, I am like, yeah, clearly, they must have seen something that we don't see?”
While speaking on his relationship with Wanni, he revealed that they had run into each other twice before meeting on the show and that he could feel a connection even when they hadn’t spoken to each other yet.
He said: “When we were going though the process, I bumped into her and I saw Wanni and Handi, I didn’t know who they were. Didn’t know who was who, I just saw twins and we never spoke to each other.
“Before lockdown, I went to her friend’s birthday, I saw them there, still never spoke, but the energy was there…”
He added “On day one when I came in and they came in with so much energy, one of them gave me a hug. The energy that Wanni gave me was different from the energy that Handi gave me.
“Handi was more friendly and Wanni was more like, it felt connected. On day two, I remember feeling like “I wanna kiss this girl o” I wanted to go in there and not be in a ship, I wanted to enjoy myself.”
He disclosed that his relationship with Wanni on the show was not strategic but genuine. When asked why they had so many fights, he claimed that it was how they got to know each other.
Shaun added “We don’t have any plans. We just want to enjoy it. I plan on seeing where it goes.”
Addressing the controversy of his relationship with Victoria, he said they had arguments during lockdown because they were in a confined space together for the first time and even went without talking to themselves and this caused the tension between them at the beginning of the show.
He said: “In lockdown, we had arguments. Obviously, I have never been, I live in London, she lives in Abuja. And when you’re friends with someone, you can check in whenever she has issues or vice versa. It is never that deep.
“But being in a confined space with someone 24/7 and no phones, no TV, you just have your thoughts and your words. Sometimes, I may give my opinion on something and she completely disagrees and we will have a whole argument and we won’t speak for the whole day.
“When I got into the show, I just wanted to distance myself a little bit and breathe. I am happy I was able to feel other people’s energies because how she was on the show from the beginning on the show is not how she is outside.”
Shaun also clarified that he and Victoria have a platonic relationship. “Victoria is an attractive girl, but she is not my type. I never got any hint that she wanted to be anything more. We’re just friends,” he said.
