  • Big Brother Naija provides a platform for housemates to gain industry recognition
  • Many housemates gain fan clubs and endorsement deals from various brands, leading to financial breakthroughs.
  • Despite initial success, some housemates from the Double Wahala edition have faded away from the spotlight

Big Brother Naija, the Nigerian edition of the global Big Brother franchise, is an exciting show that unites contestants from across the country to live together in a specially designed house. This platform offers each housemate an opportunity to gain recognition in various industries, including media, marketing, banking, and more.

Season three of Big Brother Naija, tagged ‘Double Wahala,’ aired in 2018 and introduced 20 housemates who competed for the title of winner.

Many of the housemates attracted dedicated fan clubs, leading to endorsements from various brands and multinational companies. This attention provided them with the recognition and financial opportunities they needed.

However, some housemates from the Double Wahala edition have faded from the spotlight as quickly as they gained fame. TheRadar has curated a list of these individuals; here they are:

Vandora

Vanessa Williams, also known as Vandora from the ‘Double Wahala’ edition, is a TV personality, makeup artist, and vlogger who made a memorable impression on viewers as a determined go-getter. Despite failing her second year in school, she persevered and successfully graduated from an advertising school. Vandora's striking beauty captivated many fans, although it wasn't enough to keep her in the house for long, as she was evicted just three weeks into the competition.

In May 2023, Vandora took her career to the next level by launching her lifestyle show, Vandy Vibes. Yet, aside from this project, she has largely remained out of the spotlight.

K Brule

Kelvin Brouilette, known as K Brule, entered the show with great enthusiasm. His looks and accent set him apart during his time on the show. The rapper, producer, and songwriter based in Lagos, however, did not make it to the end, despite strong support from fans. He was evicted on the 21st day after multiple warnings for using offensive language, which violated the show's rules, and was ultimately disqualified for attempting to physically harm another housemate. This unfortunate turn of events led to K Brule’s early exit. Although he has since faded from the headlines, K Brule recently signed a deal with Daddyplug.ng

Bryan

The TV host and entrepreneur, Bitto Bryan Arumun, is a versatile team player with promising talent and significant potential in the modern media and entertainment industry. His articulate opinions and impressive physique gave him an edge during the 'Double Wahala' edition, where he was often called 'Big Brother' by fellow housemates. Unfortunately, his early eviction in the third week limited the extent of his presence in the spotlight. Recently, the online personality welcomed a baby with his wife, @veekey_bee

Ahneeka

Maryanne Ahneeka Iwuchukwu, popularly known as ‘Miss Bipolar’ from the 'Double Wahala' edition, is known for her humour, lively personality, and free-spirited nature. Many fans hoped she would stay longer in the house, but unfortunately, her journey ended after three weeks, alongside her pair, Angel. Little was heard from her until she recently spoke about Phyna, the winner of the Level Up edition, on the 'Terms and Condition' podcast, stating, 'No one deserves the money.'

Angel Awotarighi, a filmmaker and talk show host who was paired with Ahneeka, has since faded from the spotlight. He privately married Canadian model, Felicia Crimnier. Choosing to maintain a low profile, Angel now hosts the 'Billionaire Podcast,' where he discusses interesting and intriguing topics.

Lolu

Omololu Adetokunbo, an investment banker known as 'Lolu,' entered the BBNaija season 3 house and showcased his intelligence, earning the admiration of viewers. His broad knowledge and insightful nature won many fans over. However, Lolu is among the housemates who have faded from the spotlight. While he initially made regular appearances at events, he has gradually retreated from the public eye and now leads a more private life. Recently, Lolu achieved an academic milestone, earning a Master of Professional Studies in Cybersecurity.

While some housemates from the 'Double Wahala' edition have continued to thrive in the entertainment industry, others have slipped from the public's attention. Nonetheless, it's clear that the Big Brother Naija platform provided a launching pad for their careers, with many going on to achieve significant accomplishments.
