The singer was discovered dead after falling from a third-floor hotel room balcony in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, on Wednesday, October 16. Reports say he fell shortly after police were called to report an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
According to this report, minutes after Payne's death, which occurred at approximately 5 PM in Argentina (UTC-3), the first meme coin centred around his passing was created yesterday at 9:29 PM (UTC+1). Most of the Payne meme coins are billed as homages to the singer or his dog. Others appear crude, focusing on the balcony from which he fell and the allegedly trashed room before.
This kind of behaviour is typical of memecoiners, who will either select a random word to turn into a coin in the hopes that it will trend or create meme coins seconds after a news story is announced.
Following the announcement of the 31-year-old English singer's passing, his followers gathered outside the hotel in the lush Palermo neighbourhood of the Argentine capital to celebrate his life and sing his songs.
There have been concerns regarding the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death. But authorities in Argentina have now confirmed the first official findings of Payne's autopsy that the singer passed away from multiple traumas and internal and external bleeding brought on by the fall.

Meme coins are cryptocurrencies dubbed after people, animals, artwork, or anything else that can be imitated. They are usually supported by an energetic and enthusiastic online community of traders and followers who intend to have fun and eventually make money with it.
Meme coins, though unique, are dependent on blockchain technology, a distributed database that facilitates transparent information exchange and tracking of virtual assets such as cryptocurrencies and Non-fungible Tokens (NFTs).
