Mrs Uzo Oshogwe has been appointed as the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Transcorp Hotels Plc, effective January 1, 2025.
Oshogwe, the current MD/CEO of Afriland Properties Ltd, will succeed Dupe Olusola, who served as Transcorp Hotels’ MD/CEO from March 25, 2020, during the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic. Olusola succeeded another trailblazer, Owen Omogiafo.
Before joining Transcorp Hotels, owner of the iconic Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, and Transcorp Hotel, Calabar, Olusola was the Group Head of Marketing at United Bank for Africa (UBA). She was responsible for the development and delivery of the integrated strategy for all UBA Group bank and non-bank subsidiaries.
The company announced Oshogwe’s appointment in a notice to the investing public and the Nigerian Exchange Limited on Tuesday, December 17.
Commenting on Oshogwe’s appointment, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, Mr Emmanuel N. Nnorom, expressed confidence in her ability to build on Olusola’s legacy and drive the company’s growth.
Nnorom said, “Uzo Oshogwe’s exceptional leadership skills and extensive experience in driving organisational growth make her the right person to continue building on Dupe Olusola’s remarkable achievements at Transcorp Hotels Plc.

Meet Uzo Oshogwe
Oshogwe’s professional journey spans over 30 years, including leadership roles at United Bank for Africa Plc, Accenture UK, and the current MD/CEO of Afriland Properties Limited.
She bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Ambrose Alli University, Edo State, and a Master’s degree in Information Systems Design from the University of Westminster, London.
Oshogwe also holds a professional certificate in Real Estate Management from Harvard Business School, USA. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants and a RICS-accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator.
She is also an alumna of prestigious executive programmes having completed the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) at Lagos Business School and the Chief Executive Programme at IESE Business School, Spain.

The company’s profit before tax for the 2023 financial year saw a 34 per cent increase to N2.41 billion from N1.80 billion recorded in 2022. Also, its revenue increased from N1.89 billion in 2022 to N4.72 billion in 2023, representing a 150 per cent increase.
The total assets of the company witnessed a 76 per cent increase from N19.38 billion in 2022 to N34.07 billion in 2023.
