Forbes' 2025 World’s Billionaires list showed that only 13.4 per cent of the 3,028 billionaires in the world are women.
According to the list, the number of women billionaires in the world increased to 406 from the 369 recorded in 2024, which represented 13.3 per cent of the 2,781 world’s billionaires in 2024.
The list, released on Tuesday, April 1, also shows that nearly two-thirds of the world’s richest women inherited their wealth, while the remaining 113 are self-made billionaires.
The 2025 billionaires list has 2,622 male billionaires, with Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Larry Ellison, and Bernard Arnault & family occupying the top five positions.
