- Victor Osimhen remains committed to Galatasaray, with his camp dismissing reports linking him to a move to Saudi Arabia.
- Osimhen has been important in Galatasaray’s dominance this season, with 26 goals and five assists in 30 appearances.
- Despite speculation about his future, Osimhen’s sole focus is on helping Galatasaray win the league, with transfer decisions to come later.
Despite ongoing transfer speculation, Victor Osimhen remains fully committed to Galatasaray, with his camp shutting down rumors linking him to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal or any other potential suitors.
The Nigerian striker, currently on loan from Napoli, has been in sensational form for the Turkish giants, with top European and Middle Eastern clubs showing transfer interest. However, his representatives have been quick to dismiss any claims of an imminent transfer.
George Gardi, one of Osimhen’s agents, refuted reports of discussions regarding a move to Saudi Arabia.
Speaking to a popular Turkish news outlet, Gardi made it clear that the Super Eagles star had no plans to leave Galatasaray before the end of the season,
“There has been no such meeting, neither before nor now, the player promised to stay in Istanbul throughout the season, and he kept his word. He did not consider any transfer interest,” Gardi stated.
Osimhen, 26, has seamlessly adjusted to life in Turkey, thriving in his new environment. Gardi emphasised the striker’s satisfaction in Istanbul, pointing out that many elite players have enjoyed their time in the city,
“He is not the first big star to come to Istanbul, all the champion players who have come here have always been pleased with the opportunities this city has offered them. Osimhen also loves everything around him and has adapted perfectly to life here,” Gardi said.
Osimhen played a crucial role in Napoli’s historic Serie A triumph in 2023, finishing as the league’s top scorer and making history as the first African player to win the Capocannoniere award.
His prolific form has continued at Galatasaray, where he has helped propel the club to the top of the Turkish Super Lig standings, ahead of fierce rivals Fenerbahce, managed by José Mourinho.
With speculation swirling about his long-term future, Gardi stressed that Osimhen’s focus remains solely on winning silverware for Galatasaray this season,
“The player will decide later, for now, his only focus is to make a mark this season,” he added.
Osimhen’s remarkable performances have extended beyond club football, as he continues to deliver for Nigeria on the international stage.
Over the past five days, he netted three goals in two matches, scoring twice in a 2-0 victory over Rwanda before adding another in a 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe.
With 26 international goals, Osimhen has now become Nigeria’s second all-time leading scorer, trailing only the legendary Rashidi Yekini, who scored 37 times for the Super Eagles.
