Cristiano Ronaldo’s private jet has departed Saudi Arabia for Madrid, Spain, amid rising tensions in the Middle East following recent US-Israeli strikes in Iran.
The Al-Nassr captain reportedly left Riyadh late at night aboard his £61 million ($81 million) Bombardier Global Express 6500 private jet, according to the Daily Mail.
Flight tracking platform Flightradar24 confirmed that the aircraft departed Riyadh at about 8:00 pm and arrived in Madrid shortly before 1:00 am, flying over Egypt and the Mediterranean.
“Riyadh, where Ronaldo lives with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their five children, has been affected by attacks linked to the regional conflict,” the report said.
His exit comes as security concerns escalate across the Gulf region.
The United States Embassy in Riyadh was struck by two drones overnight. The Saudi Ministry of Defence stated, “A limited fire broke out at the United States Embassy in Riyadh after it was hit by two drones,” adding that the incident caused “minor material damage.”
The regional instability follows joint US-Israeli military strikes in Iran on February 28, 2026.
Iranian state media reported that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed, announcing 40 days of mourning and a seven-day national holiday.
Amid the developments, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced the suspension of several West Region matches in the AFC Champions League Elite competition, citing security concerns.
Ronaldo’s side had been scheduled to face Al-Wasl in a quarter-final fixture in Dubai before the match was postponed.
The AFC confirmed that matches involving clubs from the East Region would continue as planned.
Ronaldo, who has scored 22 goals in 26 appearances for Al-Nassr this season, remains under contract with the Saudi club until 2027.
