Arsenal’s effort toward claiming silverware saw a major boost as they secured a Carabao Cup semi-final spot with a hard-fought victory over Crystal Palace. Bukayo Saka came off the bench to provide a pivotal assist and later declared that the Gunners are “ready to compete for every trophy” this season.

Mikel Arteta’s men, who have not lifted a trophy since their 2020 FA Cup triumph, are positioning themselves as strong contenders across all fronts. Despite a mixed start to their Premier League campaign, they remain third on the table, trailing leaders Liverpool and in-form Chelsea by six points. Saka, brimming with confidence, reaffirmed that Arsenal is unfazed by the pressure of the title race, saying,

“The last two seasons we’ve competed for the league and come very close,” he said.

In Europe, Arsenal is thriving in the UEFA Champions League, sitting third in their group with a promising path to the last 16. Their unbeaten streak of nine matches across all competitions only justifies their consistency so far, although their last two recent league draws against Fulham and Everton slowed their title charge.

Reflecting on Arsenal’s progression, Saka emphasised the team’s readiness to achieve greatness,

“We’re also back in the Champions League, and we have some experience there now. We really want to take that next step and try to win something,” the 23-year-old said.

Saka’s motivation to win a silverware stems from his near misses on both domestic and international stages. Having twice fallen short in UEFA European Championship finals with England and narrowly losing the Premier League title to Manchester City in recent years, the winger admitted these experiences have intensified his hunger for success.

“It’s horrible, I’ll be honest, it’s just that extra fuel for me and extra motivation. I want to get it over the line this season,” Saka said about missing out on trophies

With their Carabao Cup run alive, a competitive Premier League position, and Champions League aspirations intact, Arsenal’s ambitions are unmistakable. As they prepare to face Crystal Palace again in the league on Saturday, December 21, they’ll aim to close the gap on the league table to three points.

“Extremely difficult, one day it collapses,” Arteta gives thoughts on Liverpool maintaining form

Previously, TheRadar reported that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to close the nine-point gap to Premier League leaders Liverpool, but he also warned of the challenges the Reds might face in sustaining their stellar form.

Arteta mentioned the difficulty of maintaining dominance over a 10-month campaign, drawing from Arsenal’s own experiences in recent seasons.
