  • Fulham secured a 2-0 away victory over Crystal Palace, with Alex Iwobi providing a key assist
  • Harry Wilson scored again as a substitute, securing back-to-back goals in consecutive matches
  • Fulham's unbeaten run lifts them to seventh in the Premier League, while Palace slides to 17th

Super Eagles Alex Iwobi’s assist helped Fulham secure a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, November 9, Fulham has now gone unbeaten in their last 3 consecutive games. The Nigerian international set up Emile Smith Rowe, who struck first for Fulham just before halftime.

Smith Rowe, capitalising on a turnover by Palace’s Maxence Lacroix, found Raul Jimenez, who returned the ball, allowing Rowe to slot it past Crystal Palace’s goalie Dean Henderson.

The match heated up quickly in the second half. Rowe seemed to double Fulham’s lead after linking up with Reiss Nelson and Iwobi, but the goal was disallowed by VAR for a marginal offside. Fulham kept the pressure on, and their persistence paid off when Palace's Daichi Kamada received a straight red for a harsh tackle on Kenny Tete, leaving Palace a man down. This advantage allowed Fulham to gain more control, especially in midfield.

The spotlight turned to Fulham’s super-sub Harry Wilson, who, fresh off his match-winning double against Brentford, came off the bench and scored Fulham’s decisive second goal. Wilson, who’s quickly becoming Silva's go-to game-changer, celebrated what could’ve been a brace; however, his second strike was ruled out by VAR for a handball infringement.

This victory lifts Fulham to seventh in the Premier League standings, while Palace, with mounting struggles, sit uncomfortably close to the relegation zone in 17th place. The match shows Fulham’s strong form and most likely proves a healthy dressing-room relationship.

In the wake of Fulham’s recent win over Crystal Palace, manager Marco Silva praised Alex Iwobi’s leadership role and impact on the pitch. Reflecting on Iwobi’s progress, Silva emphasised his influence since joining the club, calling last season his "best season in the Premier League." According to Silva, who previously managed Iwobi at Everton, the 27-year-old midfielder has embraced greater responsibility with Fulham,

"From the first week of pre-season, I felt he was going to have this season. He has taken more responsibility on his back and is helping the team," Silva said.
